A sunset view of Downtown Flagstaff.

Advocating for homes residents can afford,

In neighborhoods they love

“Poverty with a view” might be a local cliché, but it points to something real: teachers, firefighters, nurses, service workers, and longtime residents are getting priced out, doubling up in crowded accommodations, or commuting long distances just to make life work. That’s not the Flagstaff I want for my neighbors, or for the next generation trying to put down roots.

Sign the Housing Pledge to show support for housing!

I’m a Flagstaff resident concerned about the rising cost of housing, and I support common-sense policies that allow more homes of different types and price points across our city. I want Flagstaff to welcome teachers, workers, families, students, and longtime locals by reducing unnecessary barriers that raise costs, encouraging neighborhood-scale housing options, and sharing the responsibility for meeting our housing needs fairly citywide.

Share your housing story

The impacts of rising housing costs don’t always show up in charts and reports. Have you had to make tough budget choices just to stay in town? Taken on roommates or live in a smaller place than you need? Delayed starting a family, going back to school, or changing jobs? Moved farther from work, friends, or family — or left Flagstaff entirely? Your story can help decision-makers understand what the housing crisis looks like in real life, and why meaningful action is urgent. Help put a human face on a problem that’s too often discussed in the abstract.
