Who we are
Flagstaff for Affordable Housing is a nonprofit formed by residents concerned about rising housing costs and the threat they pose to our community’s future. We advocate for local reforms to make Flagstaff more affordable for our essential workers, families, and future generations. Our board brings together diverse voices united by a shared vision of a Flagstaff where everyone can afford to live and thrive.
David Hayward
Board President
Through his early-career work with Habitat for Humanity, and position as a board member of Flagstaff Shelter Services, David is keenly aware of how the shortage of affordable housing impacts the most vulnerable members of our community. In his day job, David is a small real estate developer with a strong interest in and knowledge of development regulations. He is excited to put this knowledge to use creating housing opportunities for residents.

Josh England

As Finance Director at Flagstaff Shelter Services, he understands the importance of collaboration across sectors and stakeholders to drive real change.
Guillermo Cortes
Board Member
As a business owner and Chamber of Commerce board member, Guillermo hears every day how the cost of housing is affecting businesses and the broader economy. And through his engineering firm, he sees how the lack of affordable housing limits opportunity for workers. Guillermo believes that expanding housing options is essential to keeping Flagstaff economically vibrant and a place where working families can put down roots.
Farrah Dang
Board Vice-President
As a landscape architect who has worked closely with planners, builders, and residents, Farrah has seen how shared goals can lead to real change. She believes that housing is more than just a basic need — it's the foundation for well-being, social stability, and vibrant communities. Farrah is confident that Flagstaff can improve affordability, especially for local workers, while also enhancing neighborhood character and protecting the city’s natural beauty.
Tyler Denham
Executive Director
Tyler got involved in housing advocacy after many of his friends, family members, and coworkers were priced out of Flagstaff. As the Executive Director of Flagstaff For Affordable Housing, he is excited to connect big-picture goals around affordability and sustainability with practical, local solutions. He knows that with a focus on shared goals, it's possible to make space for future generations and protect our natural environment.
